Wisden Cricket Monthly returns to the newsstand as a fresh, contemporary magazine from the most trusted name in cricket writing. Wisden’s famous yellow book, the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, continues to set the standard for insightful writing and comprehensive coverage of the game, and WCM will show a similar commitment to covering, analysing and celebrating the game in all its forms.
Every issue features big name interviews and columnists, insightful and entertaining features, and extensive coverage of international, county and club cricket. The magazine is edited by Phil Walker and Jo Harman, both formerly of All Out Cricket, with expert input from an editorial board of journalists, broadcasters and former players including David 'Bumble' Lloyd' and Lawrence Booth.
It’s forty years since David Gower made his Test debut, and to mark the occasion we’ve made him our guest editor for the month. Amongst other things, the legendary England batsman discusses the most stylish players of that period and reflects on the game's ever-shifting landscape.
Elsewhere in the July issue, we’ve got an exclusive interview with England’s form player, Jos Buttler; a special report on Somerset; Sarah Taylor shares her top wicketkeeping tips; a raft of big-name columnists including Kumar Sangakkara and Jonathan Liew; and Greg Chappell – a strong influence on Gower's career – picks out the highlights from his extraordinary life in cricket.
