If you're looking to switch it up for the cooler months, Lauren from Hello Charmmie talks us through the AW16 Bold Lip from the latest issue of her Glamour magazine subscription...

This month's Glamour magazine featured a piece on Bold Lips and I thought I'd share my top three picks for getting a flawless, bold pout.

One of the first things to remember when creating a statement lip is to prepare your lips appropriately by using a lip scrub and making sure they are well moisturised, as it will help the overall appearance of your lipstick.hello_charmmie_bold_lip_2

I personally prefer using liquid lipsticks when it comes to a bolder lip, as they apply smoother and last longer without transferring, unlike a lipstick.

My top three (in no particular order) are:

Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang

The Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquers go on super smooth, very opaque but they don't dry down to a matte finish they stay glossy without transferring too much, avoiding the need to reapply too often. The formula is also very moisturising and not drying at all, being the most forgiving liquid lipstick formula I've tried to date.

MUA Luxe in Kooky and MUA Luxe in Dare (unavailable but Moxie is a close dupe!).

The MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers apply smooth but with a mousse like texture which dries down to a fully matte finish, which can be drying if you haven't prepped your lips well before applying. The lasting power on these lip Lacquers is amazing, once they are on they are there all night, I found that I had zero transfer and no flaking while wearing on a night out.

I did find the MUA Velvet Lip Lacquers a bit more difficult to apply as they didn't glide on as smooth as the Rimmel Apocalips which you can probably see above however once applied I love the finish of the MUA Velvets and the lasting power is superior to the Apocalips!

Overall, I'd recommend the MUA velvets due to the lasting power, but if you're not a pro at applying lipstick (like me!) then the Rimmel Apocalips is for you.

I hope you enjoyed my top three bold lips, if you have any recommendations let me know! You can find great beauty inspiration in every issue of Glamour magazine (so grab a subscription just in time for LFW)!
