Now that winter is here, a lot of us are dreaming of warmer climes, and Condé Nast Traveller magazine is the perfect source of inspiration. Blogger network member Jessica from Forever Miss Vanity explains how she takes travel inspiration from print.

Compared to a lot of my friends and family, I seem to have caught the travel bug a little bit later in life. When university ended, most of my friends set off for an adventure of a lifetime travelling the world backpacking and visiting places I can barely even pronounce. Instead of tagging along I got married, settled into a 9-5 job and the most exotic place I visited was Ibiza.

At the beginning of this year, I was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Thailand all expenses paid to report on the textile and fashion industry in small villages not often visited by tourists. During my visit I met a lot of local people that taught me about their way of life, I visited temples and took part in Buddhist traditions and most importantly, for a week and a half I was immersed in a culture different to my own. As soon as the plane landed back in London, I knew that I had finally caught the travel bug, I could see why all my friends wanted to visit these places and from the moment I left the airport, I was already craving my next adventure.

Condé Nast Traveller is the UK’s leading travel magazine and I recently subscribed to help me with my travel inspiration. The pages are full of glossy, wanderlust invoking images, highly descriptive features and travel deals that make you want to book then and there. There’s everything from UK breaks to luxury vacations, foodie holidays to hotel reviews and fashion features to ensure you look glamorous on your holidays. It’s a coffee table book that everyone would like to flick through and it’s also a good reference book to keep on the shelf in case you're planning any future holidays.

I’ve only just begun planning my adventures but Condé Nast Traveller magazine has guided me in the right direction and if you’re planning a luxury holiday in your life, I’d definitely recommend a read.
